Recently, the Oversight Board accepted a request from Meta, in the form of a policy advisory opinion, to review its cross-check system and make recommendations on how it can be improved. The public comment portal is now open until 10:00 ET/15:00 UTC on Friday, January 14th, 2022.

The Board welcomes comments that examine: Whether a cross-check system is needed and if it strengthens or undermines the protection of freedom of expression and other human rights. What additional research and resources Meta should dedicate to improving the cross-check system.
