Ochuodho is the new chief executive officer of the Rwanda Information Technology Authority (RITA) for a period of two years. Ochuodho, a former chairman of the Computer Society of Kenya, will now head the national body that is designed to develop Rwanda’s information and communications facilities. He holds a Philosopher’s Degree (PhD) in Engineering (software) from the University of York, England and a Masters in Electronic Engineering from the University of Nairobi. RITA runs as an independent body with linkages to IT divisions in government ministries as well as other ICT-related organisations in public and private sectors. The authority seeks to modernise Rwanda’s economy using information and communi! cation technology as an engine for accelerated growth.
