Dear listers.
KICTANet has submitted a memorandum <https://www.kictanet.or.ke/?mdocs-file=51569> to The National Computer and Cybercrime Coordination Committee with detailed feedback on the Draft Kenya Cybersecurity Strategy 2025-2029. Our analysis highlights key issues and offers proposals for improvement.
This is very nice, hopefully attention will be paid to sections 3.5 and 3.7 on communication channels. USSD is mentioned as an important channel,it would be helpful for audits to be conducted and public reports made available as secure use requires end-to-end encryption, which may not always be deployed. The draft seems to have disappeared from their website, can only find the old version at: https://nc4.go.ke/national-cybersecurity-strategy-2022-2027/ Public participation does not have it: https://nc4.go.ke/public-participation/
