RE:          Seeking Expressions of Interest for WITSA Global Impact Study by August 31, 2010

____________________________________________________________________________

Dear Colleagues,

As you may recall from our meetings in Amsterdam in May, WITSA is initiating a major study of the impact of ICT. This request for expressions of interest (EOI) sets out the specifications and output requirements for the study, to undertake the study from qualified research organizations and institutions including but not limited to: colleges, universities, nongovernmental organizations, consortium, foundations, and corporations. Subsequently from short-listed organizations, a Request for Proposal (RFP) will then be issued seeking a more detailed response.

We would greatly appreciate your assistance in sending this EOI to any interested parties among your memberships and beyond. Responses must reach the WITSA Secretary General at jpoisant@witsa.org not later than close of business on Tuesday, August 31, 2010. Please find the details of the EOI at http://www.witsa.org/v2/request/EOI.htm.

The completed study output will be publicly accessible via the WITSA web site (www.witsa.org) and comprise a range of media (the ICT Impact portal) setting out both theoretical and evidence-based impacts of ICT. These impacts will initially focus on the economic as well as social and cultural impacts. WITSA is keen for the ICT Impact portal to comprise analyses with resilient, dynamic links to key indicators, so that it maintains currency and relevance to users over time.

For more information, please contact WITSA Public Policy Advisor Tim Conway at tim@witsa.org.

Again, we appreciate your help in circulating this information to potentially interested parties.

Best regards,

Anders
