TONGUE IN CHEEK: average day time temperatures in Mweiga can be very high most times of Year. You want cold to cool, think of three coldest inhabited (infrastructure serviced)  places in Kenya: Limuru, Timboroa or Nyahururu. I'd push for the last because there a fledgling university, with lots of land, potentially large budget, perpetuity,  a master plan that includes green power, and equidistant from the places that have been quietly earmarked for development as Kenya's commercial hubs under vision 2030.

Hi,

Just came across an article about the move of data center locations to the cold arctic regions as a way to reduce on cooling costs and this got me wondering if we might need to rethink the location of the Silicon Savannah closer to the icy peaks of Mt. Kenya, we could have President Kibaki offer some spaces at his new home.

Every morning in Africa, a gazelle wakes up, It knows it must run faster than the fastest lion or it will be killed. Every morning a lion wakes up, it knows it must outrun the slowest gazelle or it will starve to death. It doesn't matter whether you are a gazelle or a lion. When the sun comes up, you better start running.
