The Youthcom workshop initiative targets to introduce the youth (under 30 years) from various backgrounds not only to ICANN but the wider Internet ecosystem with an aim of ensuring this new audience, are prepared early enough to help them participate effectively in the internet ecosystem when they grow older.
Effectively, this particular programme further enhances other ICANN programs like NexTGen : https://www.icann.org/development-and-public-responsibility/nextgen and Fellowship that you may be aware of, only that this is an opportunity to reach as many youth at the national level as possible over a 2-day workshop. ICANN has identified experienced facilitators supported by ICANN staff and community members with diverse knowledge in Internet Governance and Policy Making that will go a long way in mentoring the youth.
