Barrack,

You raise a very pertinent point on SIM hawking. On 2019, the CA issued a directive banning that and required the purchase of SIM cards from agents.

There was a fine and six months behind bars if found. This indeed, was a pipe dream. No wonder, many became victims.

As it turns out, let's verify how many numbers are registered with our ID. For those who do not know, Safaricom has remained consistent in sharing consumer messages on the Dos and Don'ts.

@David Indeje i went to a shop on the ground yesterday. I found out that it is just a verification exercise. However i also discovered that some of the lines i bought at Kiosks on the streets were not duly registered hence i saw the sense in the exercise. I think the objectives of the exercise were not communicated  well from a middle class perspective, the Telcos used the language the masses understand. I will not use some of the terms here until i verify if they are on the NCIC list.

Listers,

If you are a Kenyan, what is your stand on SIM card Registration? Online, people are 'up in arms" kwa ground, it is a different picture.

Why are African governments blocking phone lines of citizens?
