An astronaut unlawfully accessed her wife’s bank accounts from the International Space Station. The couple are going through a bitter divorce, custody battle, etc. This is apparently the first crime to be committed in space, so the jurisdiction issues are somewhat interesting as they are with all Internet-enabled crimes. Presumably US law applies since the bank is located in the US, but I don’t really know."Ms. McClain acknowledged that she had accessed the bank account from space, insisting through a lawyer that she was merely shepherding the couple’s still-intertwined finances.
