In Summary * Tech city will cost over $8.5bn and create 200,000 jobs: is this reasonable spending relative to alternatives? Two days ago, the leading news item in the print and electronic media was the formal launch of the Konza Technology City by President Kibaki. To many, it was the beginning of the quest to establish the equivalent of Silicon Valley, hence the name Africa’s Silicon Savannah.
