We need more players in bandwidth provision considering more people are venturing into BPO business.

The bandwith we are being offered now are throt cutting for small business who are trying to stay afloat.

Subject: [kictanet] government to woo investors

In April/ May, the government will commence a spirited campaign aimed at wooing investors and maintaining the existing ICT investors by tendering for bandwidth supply from companies.

Much of the bandwidth will be subsidized by the World Bank and will be provided to universities and Business Processing Outsourcing (BPO) organizations. The exercise is expected to kick off in July this year.

Speaking at the OFC workshop, Permanent Secretary in the ministry of Information and Communication Bitange Ndemo said he had put down mechanisms at the treasury to ensure the process goes smoothly.
