My understanding is that Hon Nyokabi’s is a private member’s bill. The public participation pathway for that maybe a little different but I know she has held public engagements (limited obviously because of the resources available to a member) since last year. The private members bill was a route taken as an alternative to the public process which was taking too long. This may put some feet to the fire.

It seems the discussions took place abroad, what a shame, and blatant disregard of due processes to suit selfish interests.

Just heard the Hon. MP Priscilla Nyokabi is to present the Access to Info Bill 2015 in parliament today. Not sure if the copy below is the correct one...

Either way, gone are the days when we used to ventilate online on such important bills. Nowadays it seems discussions are held 'elsewhere' for some selected few :-)
walu. nb: I know the common advise is that we can still submit comments directly to parliament, but experience shows that is often 'too little, too late'.
