Stuart, Blockchain in healthcare sounds like an interesting thing. Tell me more... I report on health and am thinking of a digital-business angle for a health feature. Hi Erick,
I believe blockchain can be applied to medical records. We are currently programme managers for MoH and WHO in deploying a county-wide, and possibly later a nationwide, electronic health management system for public health facilities. One of the challenges comes with trying to ensure security and authenticity while the patient visits multiple health centres and hospitals in the county.
BC could be used to 1) Ensure their medical records can't be interfered with, guaranteeing their authenticity (important for insurance, legal cases and the person themselves). 2) Help confirming the patient's identity so as to link new records to existing ones, no matter the facility they are being treated at.
Maybe BC could be the answer, maybe not, but certainly worth investigating! If there's someone interested in working with us on this let us know.

Listers,
While this is certainly huge - it's important to note Blockchain is not applicable to everything - it's a Time stamp distributed ledger. The key word is Time stamp where an existing authority is not "trusted". I can definitely see the land registry angle however am not too sure re medical records, the question would be what/why is being solved.
Wish someone from the CSs team would give us the reasoning behind this.
Eric
