@Ali,

Hiyo yako ni tamaa :-)

Let the co.ke just stay. It cannot be sold.

That can be part of the agreement. This domain is too valuable to just ‘park’ it. I see no reason why this can’t done.

I am with @Phares on this. I don't think co.ke can be sold. If I bought it, I could then mess up all the .co.ke domains by just creating them as a subdomain of my co.ke domain - unless it is clearly stated that whoever buys co.ke is PROHIBITED from creating any subdomains on this domain.

Not really. (.co.ke) is what is currently in use. KeNIC introduced a second level system which is (.ke) and the rules are clear. You can own any domain with one or more letters before the (.ke).

So where I stand (or sit) :-) the co.ke domain is fair game.. I think KeNIC just needs to explain to the community why they are hoarding this billion dollar domain. :-)

Some interesting domains are hitting respectable numbers.. Ranging from 100k to 500k..This is real..

Ni.ke hits the Kshs 1 billion (or $9.7m) mark in the premium domain auction of the .ke second level domain launch. This is probably an all time record of any ccTLD (Country Code Second Level Domain).

For a minute I thought this was an error. And it could still be.. :-)

If this turns out to be true it would be a world record and focus the world alot more on Kenya.. Hold on! We are onto a wild ride! :-)

At the very least this is great PR and a Marketing Coup.

@Abdalla and Team - Well done for putting KENIC on the map!
