David, As I understand it the session would be for Dr Ndemo to present the government concept note and master plan on the ICT parks. Giving opportunity for questions and audience discussion I think half a day is sufficient. Issues below can be thrashed out in the usual way through the list with suitable moderation. Nairobi, the capital of Kenya, is to host this science park, which will serve as a case study for establishing 'technopolises' across Africa. The issues you are attempting to introduce (a), (b) and (c) below would require there own days on the carpet. For example on (c) the Kenya BPOCC Society successfully had the PE, MoI&C launch a Standards and Ethics Guideline with the KICTB sponsoring the launch and since then both the KBPOCCS, KICTB and the KeBS are working towards a Standard for BPO and CC operations the latter will have outbound and inbound standards while the former will be for back office processes. The launch of the S&E Guideline was a half a day affair. Enjoy your Furahi day all. DO On 1/8/10, Agosta Liko <agostal@gmail.com> wrote:

My suggestion is we keep this conversation "a KICTANET" conversation and model others after it.
I am concerned that if you make it an ICT Board thing, it will come with a fixed agenda and only 2 questions after the speaker when in actual sense we are looking to start a conversation that affects alot of listers.
As private sector players, this is the only forum we would have to shape Government projects ...
For the ICT Board, I would request that Paul Kukubo (CEO - ICT Board) address the second session ....
some topics ...
a. These Content Projects - how are they going, how can the private sector engage
b. That Bandwidth subsidy - did it work ?, lessons learnt, what next ..
c. Standards - What the ICT Board and KBS are doing towards this ... can we provide feedback as private sector players to guide this conversation
From the About us page on kictanet site ---
"KICTANet is a multi stakeholder network of members from civil society
groups, private sector, development partners and media. The network aims to act as a catalyst for reform in the ICT sector in support of the government mission to enable Kenyans to gain maximum benefit from the opportunity offered by ICTs."
I humbly recommend that we stick to the free room and Dr Ndemo as the first speaker .. this conversation is in the right forum.
Kindly advice
