And I believe it's possible coz at the very least, a SIM card can store addresses so even if the MPesa cant read the phone then it can read the addresses stored on SIM. Then people can move addresses to SIM for people whom they normally MPesa to.

Does Zain's Zap or Yu's YuCash have the same issue?

Zain's Zap gives one the option of entering the recipient's number from the SIM card/phonebook. Meaning one doesn't have to jot down the number in which to send the money.
I don't know how YuCash operates!

Michael,

if i want to send money to my mom upcountry, the MPESA application requires me to jot down her n0 (instead of just allowing me to pick it from my address book).  Jotting down the n0 is not only inconveniencing but also prone error.

Why cant your software team sort this out or just ask the young turks at skunkworks to do it for a small Xmas fee?

walu.
