I would argue that everyone has the right to privacy, which means that right not to have their communications, private or family affairs unnecessarily infringed. So the DPP should only make these posts out of necessity and I am sure that they can argue that they are necessary for public safety. Another concern however is the language used in the posts. It concludes that the suspects have committed the crimes and that their case is done. This goes against the notion of innocence till proven guilty. Considering that we do not have all sides of the story, perhaps DPP could be more cautious before parading suspects images and other personal details online? Also, are those numbers verified? 350m in 4 days translates to 87m per day. if each person was paying 350 bob, it would mean close to 250k transactions a day. What medium did they use to advertise to reach the 250k users daily for 4 days (average)
I could be wrong but i am doubting these numbers and if indeed the numbers are true, i would like to know how they were achieved.

Such a post circulating accompanying the young men is evidence of sheer geniusness and heroism to the masses. Just like the heros of Betting windfalls. While a few consider them criminals - based on the vibangos they've been given to carry.
The loot may open UWEZO PLUS and run the original UWEZO mandate to support the mission.
Already there is a ready market - applicants, all who registered. Who might not have thought themselves suited for the other funding avenues or thought this sweeter.
What must not disappear is that the process has generated data on a client base which if you are in financial services is a profile of prospective customer. This they may sell now or hoard until the dust settles.
I dare to imagine this windfall (amount and magnitude of reach) might not even have been in their strategy calculator.
Everything indicates very good digital marketing, SEO etc. How many corporates wish even for an iota of such from their campaigns

Maybe a lawyer can advice. I know there's a procedure for releasing "most wanted" appeals. DCI began by posting picture of say "notorious laptop thief" who had been arrested with several gadgets and calling on members of public who had lost their devices to go and collect them. I suspect this was a ploy to get witnesses after arresting people with stolen goods but there being no complainant. When no one raised an issue on that which was itself unlawful they escalated to what we're witnessing now.

Good morning,
It’s not clear to me if the Kenyan law prohibits them from doing that.

Good conversations, DCI might be doing this innocently to show that they are working and also to deter potential criminals. The best way to resolve this is through Capacity building.
