What would definitely be a good thing would be to get proper authentication on the domain available (DNSSEC), to allow global calibre registrars to resell the domain (Gandi, 1x1, Namecheap, etc...) and to allow 'naked' .ke domains (like google.ke).

I don't know if KENIC needs to be shutdown or something else has to happen to get them responsive to the needs of the global Internet but the first two items above really need to be addressed - it's 2013!

Please clarify what might be a good thing:-

1. The idea that the whole .ke Multi-stakeholder governance process is at stake?

OR

2. The fact that .ke is being mismanaged then CCK unilaterally disbands KeNIC? (Of course if the news is to be believed)

I think this might be a good thing.  Maybe it's not KENIC that is responsible, but the .ke tld is definitely poorly managed.

Walu and all,

I really look forwad to a full public engagement process before any major decision can be made, is this the best that we can do as a nation? as the Internet society we are looking forwad to a public process that will examine possible solutions to this debacle that has dragged on for years, we are not short of case studies from Africa and globally and we will seek to demonstrate this. We welcome all stakeholders to the Kenya Internet Governance Forum to be held at Stathmore University Business School on July 26th 2013 where we shall make our position on this matter known.

Thank you

Best Regards
