Hi all,
Valid issues being raised. It might be a good idea to have a town hall
meeting to discuss this issues since there seems to be a lot of
misunderstanding. Is this something CA would be willing to consider?
Rachel or Wambua? Considering the contribution of the Internet to the
Gross Domestic product and the role of trust in ensuring uptake of
Internet and telecommunication services it would be worth clearing the
air and ensuring that we do what is right for the country and the
sector. I am sure this is something KICTANET can coordinate.

Fears -unfounded ornot- are easily stoked.Additionally, as someone mentioned, CA needs to explain further the"surveillance" equipment it is supposedly deploying. A lot of Kenyans use the chinese fakes, and as such alot of the cariers traffic passes through these "fakes". Could it be thatgenuinely CA is looking at a purely device focussed and not user content?Consider that the "breaking news" was as a result of leaks by the telco'son the letter sent by the CA and it's requirement of them. I think this isalso potentially a valid twist to the narrative. That being said, the onusis on the CA as a public body to show beyond doubt their intentions arenot malicious. On Mon, Feb 20, 2017 at 10:54 AM, awatila--- via kictanet<kictanet@lists.kictanet.or.ke> wrote:Far fetched on not, the point is that the move by CA has created so muchfear in the citizenry.I would be interested with a response from CA on the issues raised by thekenya human rights commission on the phone tappingRegards,Best Regards,Alex#MobilePrivacyIsMyRightSent from Mail for Windows 10From: Kentice Tikolo via kictanetSent: Monday, February 20, 2017 10:09 AMTo: awatila@yahoo.co.ukCc: Kentice TikoloSubject: Re: [kictanet] Govt to start phone tapping in war oncounterfeittradeWhich mobile phones are these that will be transmitting election results?Isn't this so far-fetched?Kentice Tikolo, MScPR, FPRSKDelegate-at-Large, Global Alliance for PR & Communication ManagementBoardStrategic PR & Communications ConsultantLife isn't tied with a bow, but it's still a gift.
