Many
digital ID policy papers recommend that digital IDs be inclusive and
call for governments to eliminate exclusion. But how do digital ID
systems come to be inclusive or exclusive? Is it in the design of the
projects or are there structural issues that contribute to exclusion?
CIPIT will be having a public talk on inclusion and exclusion of
National IDs. Come join Teki Akuetteh-Falconer from African Digital Rights Hub,
as she discusses on the ground experiences on inclusion and exclusion
from three West African countries. She will be joined by Yussuf Bashir from Haki na Sheria Initiative Kenya and, Dorothy Mukasa from Unwanted Witness who will share nuanced experiences on how digital ID projects can include or exclude sections of society. When: Apr 30, 2021 Time: 11:00am - 12:30pm EAT
