A new cross-border payment platform is set to launch in Kenya, allowing traders to pay for Chinese goods through the Alipay system affiliated with Jack Ma's Chinese e-commerce giant Alibaba. Pyxis, a fintech company is finalizing the integration with Alipay, enabling Kenyan traders to make payments up to $70,000 on WeChat, China's dominant social media and payment platform. Pyxis' service is expected to provide a more convenient and cost-effective alternative to traditional banking platforms. Safaricom is also implementing integration of of Mpesa payments with AliPay.
