Dr. Waudo, quite some thinking put in this document I must admit. But just a few questions if I may. 1. It looks like if I am not registered with the said ICT practitioners Institute, then i cannot provide ICT services. More like the LSKs, Medical and Engineers bodies. Would this kill or stimulate ICT innovation? 2. There's a whole section creating an ICT Examination Board, along the lines of KASNEB. Isnt this replicating national resources? Count 2: ICT board has/should have nothing to do with KASNEB? I think ICT board has an interest in the ICT technical capacity in this country. It would be futile to market Kenya as an ICT destination, when one knows the gaps or inadequacy we have
our Polytechnics (now all rushing to be universities) used to address.
Finally, KASNEB has an Accounting background but is moving into providing their Examination Expertise into other areas (ICT, Actural Science, etc) and you are right:-They have a legal mandate and
this. Something the Computer Soceity of Kenya, ITSA and other ICT professional bodies have sought to no avail.
Probably Waudo, could your worry be that KASNEB maybe introducing 'unnecessary' competition in that space?
