The platform will serve as a two-way information and communication platform between citizens and government but also other stakeholders. It will bring together for the first time, the major mobile network operators on the continent including MTN, Vodacom, Airtel, Safaricom and Orange. The platform will further provide the ECA, Africa CDC, Country's National COVID-19 Taskforces, Ministries of Health, and Ministries of Finance, Economy, and Planning, and other stakeholders with analysis of live data for decision-making, monitoring and evaluation. At its peak, the platform could reach over 350-460 million devices and people. The platform uses Artificial Intelligence to analyse a combination of online digital data, as well as mobile based information. It will also allow for just in time data, improve linkage of government and research centers with citizens, and assist in analysing the broader socio-economic situation of populations, and identification and targeting of policies.
