Hi Waudo,

It had to be abruptly postponed to allow Magufuli visit Kenya.

For anyone who'd get the invite to State House for the Summit, here is the one issue I'd like you to raise on my behalf:

That  Class 1 laptop which the govt has been giving out, does it have some academic content? Seeing as parents of children joining Standard 1 have to buy Text Books worth almost KES 6,000, what content then does this laptop have and how and how is it relevant to the Syllabus?
And why do children still need to buy exercise books when kids have these laptops? Or we'll get there one day?? I was hoping the laptop could replace Text/Exercise Books. The govt could get electronic versions of these Text Books from the Publishers at a discounted price. That's what going digital meant to me.

My feelers indicate that a State House summit to discuss ICT matters has finally been scheduled for Monday next week.

Unlike my fellow columnist Dr David Ndii, nobody from the house on the hill has bothered to extend me an invite to honour or turn down.

Considering that the chances of that State House invite materialising on my desk are close to zero, I have opted to ask some of the questions that have been bothering the ICT community right here.
