The 4th Freedom Online Coalition Conference is taking place in Tallinn, Estonia between April 28 and 29 2014.
This year's theme is - Free and Secure Internet for All.
There are 385 high-level representatives from 60 countries of Africa, Asia, Europe, North and South America and Oceania attending the conference, including 170 members of governments and other public sectors, 150 representatives of NGO's and international organisations and more than 50 people from the private sector.
Key speakers include Speaker of the Senate of Kenya Ekwee Ethuro, the President of Estonia Toomas Hendrik Ilves, Google Chief Internet Evangelist and “father of the Internet” Vinton Cerf, representatives from various NGOs and ministers from Canada, Estonia, Mongolia, Netherlands, New Zealand, Nigeria and Tunisia.
At this year’s conference Recommendations for Freedom Online will be introduced by the Freedom Online Coalition. This will serve as a comprehensive instrument developed jointly by all the constituents of the global Internet community and will be adopted by the governments of FOC countries to ensure the further improvement of a free and global Internet. All stakeholders are invited to join the Recommendations at the Conference and online.
