Can you imagine the kind of power one government (put any country of your choice here) would have if they managed to put a backdoor to every server out there, either in other governments' servers or those of critical installations or major corporations? Just forget about the technology for a moment. That would be a powerful country. They would get to know what your plans are before you think about executing them, and ofcourse plan counter moves. They would steal your industry blue prints and beat you to the product. They would always be one step ahead. Sound familiar?

The most important strategy is to know yourself and to know your enemy. "Knowledge is power" has never been so relevant.
