Today I was in the Westlands area and came across Telkom/Orange staff laying fibre optic cable through what was professionally done ducting.

At a depth of over 7 feet this cable is definitely more secure than the one I saw in Kilimani area lying literally in the surface.  

The interesting thing is that all this was done when Telkom/KPTC had only 350,000 landlines across the country.  

We seriously need to do something about our work ethic and professionalism if we are going to surface to 2020 let alone 2030.
