Edith, I don't remember the exact details of the print campaign anymore, but I think it was actually stated somewhere on the ad. Weren't these tariffs actually advertised as KES3 calls to the US, China etc? Someone jog my memory. Also, it's not that  complicated a website. I just googled 'Airtel Kenya tariffs' and was two clicks away from the link.

Macharia Gaitho, today, you win. You can stick an extra typo in the next Nation and I won't point it out! :) Take your pick: a gun-totting police man? A curved niche? A greenbuck?

Thanks.

Clear branding and advertising is certainly necessary in the public domain! Not every Kenyan has access to complicated websites!

This tariff doesn't apply to all international calls, Edith - KES3 is only for a number of countries, including the US. The other tariffs are KES20 and KES30 per minute.

Listers,

Can anyone confirm that airtel charges ksh 3 (is it per minute or seconds?) for international calls? Despite the hype, this is not the reality from my recent painful experience.

What role does CCK play in ensuring consumers get what they are promised?
