The majority of we common wananchi cannot afford to go to court every time someone insults us. ( Actually most wananchi can't affort to go to court, period.) Is there another channel that people can use to settle such matters out of court?
Ahmed Mohamed Maawy said: "Insult in Swahili means "Kutukana". In which case the response to an insulting person (a fool) is to keep quiet. Arguing with a fool is foolish. This does not look so good in many ways for a public figure like him."
I agree it is not wise to argue with a fool but disagree with keeping quiet. Silence is not always the best policy. Again, is there a channel, outside court, that people can use? Regarding the issue of public figures, I think they too have a right to not be insulted, their privacy to be respected and also the right to speak out against any real or perceived insults. Dialogue is key.
