QA Test Engineer Job Description

Job Responsibilities:

Position Summary:

The candidate will be responsible for Software Test Planning, Commissioning and Execution  for a variety of Test cases while supporting the customer.

The individual should be self-motivated, creative and proactive, to work successfully in a fast-paced environment including multiple platforms and architectures, diverse technologies.

The individual will work closely with developers, project managers, network engineers and other stakeholders, executing test iterations, tracking / reporting results, troubleshooting and coordinating defect resolution. The individual should have a strong understanding of SDLC processes and the QA lifecycle and methodology.

Major Responsibilities:

·         Interact with Product management, Project management and Development teams to

·         develop a strong understanding of the project and testing objectives

·         Use existing tools and techniques to execute test cases and build/script new tools for

·         performing testing/validation function

·         Develop and lead the manual/automation strategy and generate user defined scripts to

·         perform automated testing cycles

·         Execute and analyze manual/automation test results.

·         Participate in troubleshooting and tracking of issues with different teams to drive

·         towards root cause identification and resolution

·         Document, track and escalate issues as appropriate, using defect management tools.

·         Support production deployment of applications and perform “validation testing”

·         during the off-hours maintenance windows

Minimum Requirements:

Experience/Skills:

·         Relevant Testing work experience in Telecom Domain for Billing systems. Huawei’s CBS experience preferred.

·         Excellent verbal and written communication skills

·         Technical background and an understanding of the telecom industry

·         Database skills, mainly in Oracle and SQL Server

·         Good experience with different Operating Systems, with emphasis on proficiency of Linux commands

·         Good understanding of the SDLC

·         Knowledge of automated testing tool - Auto Space - Optional

·         Must demonstrate an understanding of the Telecom protocols and Interface architectures

·         Proven ability to manage and prioritize multiple, diverse projects simultaneously

·         Must be flexible, independent and self motivated

·         Punctual, Regular and consistent attendance
