KICTANet in partnership with Facebook is pleased to announce an open call for participants interested in taking part in the third edition of Kenya School of Internet Governance (KeSIG), scheduled to happen from 16th-18th July, 2018. Those who will be selected will also be invited to participate in the Kenya IGF scheduled for Thursday, July 19, 2018.
This is a three day face to face introductory training whose aim is to:
Get participants to understand internet governance, and
To equip participants with skills to effectively participate in internet governance discussions and forums.
We are interested in getting participants from all ICT related sectors: government, academia, tech community, civil society, bloggers and journalists who are new to Internet Governance issues.
Areas to be covered in the training include:
Introduction to internet governance,
Main issues in internet governance,
Internet Governance processes and how to be involved,
Kenya’s internet Governance policy /legal framework(s), internet Governance Issues in Kenya etc.
The faculty is sourced from government institutions, private sector, civil society, academia and users to expose participants to different points of view as well as give them an opportunity to challenge stakeholder positions.
