The Geneva Phase of the World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS) adopted the Declaration of Principles and the Plan of Action. These Summit documents highlighted the importance of developing information and communications infrastructure that brings ubiquitous and affordable access to the network. Our vision of the ubiquitous network society would meet these requirements.
To further promote this ideal network society, the Japanese government, ITU and the UN University will co-organize the Tokyo Ubiquitous Network Conference, as a WSIS thematic meeting. The conference will discuss specific measures to overcome foreseeable problems, ensure that such a society is realized, and make proposals. Meeting details are given below.
