I love your idea of people volunteering their time to help those in the rural areas especially to build capacity. A number are already doing it in their own way. I wonder if there could be a structured way to do it. Maybe a centralized place where people can drop their names (and expertise) if need be, areas where they would like to volunteer etc. And if possible they can be matched with relevant people in these areas; the link person in those areas could be the District Information Officers (I hope that is what they are called). This is just me running away with ideas....but only if possible.

Andrew, Thanks. We are doing something for our rural folks. I am a bit frustrated that it is moving slowly. If we take is as a collective responsibility, we shall move much faster.
If you live in urban areas and you can volunteer time for your rural folks, please let me know. We are working to get either a tablet or a note book to all high school kids but this will require massive training. We need not spend money on training if all of us donated time to educate our rural students. We shall succeed with hardware but need help in building capacities. Let me have your "opinions".
