Good evening
I did a three part series on how Lawful Interception works within a Telco. It's a tard technical and I have quoted the 3GPP standards that enable this for voice, data and sms. 2G, 3G, 4G and 5G require different interception points. LEO satellites (such as Starlink) also do comply to the standards although they are not technically 3GPP networks.

In the third part, I gave a case study of Australia  Government has published on its website information related to LI and it includes amongst other things periodic reports to its citizenry which include information and statistics on:

  1. The relevant legislation wrt surveillance and lawful interception.
  2. Agencies that have intercepted or accessed telecommunications, or used surveillance devices.
  3. The type of warrants applied for, or the type of surveillance devices used legal developments since the last reporting period.
  4. The number of prosecutions and convictions resulting from the use of intercepted or accessed telecommunications information, or from the use of surveillance devices., etc

A recent court case has revealed significant infighting among State House aides in Kenya, exposing a disorganized communication strategy within President William Ruto's administration. The legal filings detail internal disputes and a chaotic approach to managing propaganda and official messaging, highlighting tensions and a lack of coordination among top presidential advisers. The fallout was over the procurement of a digital propaganda spying surveillance software. https://nation.africa/kenya/news/propaganda-system-court-case-exposes-infighting-among-state-house-aides-5051832#story
