Research and Communications Assistant (Ref: 100 and 101) Two posts, Three month fixed term contracts, Full Time (35 hours per week) BRIDGE seeks two skilled researchers and abstracters to join the BRIDGE team for three months. S/he will need a broad knowledge of gender and development theory, policy and practice and have excellent writing skills in order to produce summaries of information sources in a high quality, concise and readable style. One of the positions will be working primarily on the BRIDGE-hosted Siyanda (www.siyanda.org) gender resource (Ref: 100) and the other position will be working on a collaborative project between BRIDGE/Siyanda and the ELDIS (www.eldis.org) Gender Resource Guide (Ref: 101). The candidate will need a broad knowledge of gender and development theory, policy and practice. The role primarily involves: research and writing support to team members; writing of accessible summaries that draw out key lessons for policy-makers and practitioners; supporting the implementation of the BRIDGE monitoring and evaluation strategy; and networking, information dissemination and publicity-related tasks. The candidate will need to be a team player and have strong analytical and versatile writing skills. As an experienced and creative researcher, they should be familiar with gender information sources. Language (French, Spanish, Arabic or Chinese), monitoring and evaluation and web-authoring skills would be an advantage. Closing date: Wednesday 16 November (11:00). Interview date: w/c 28 November.
