I was counted yesterday morning. And true, the questions are detailed, if used appropriately, then distribution of resources would be fair. One thing which I'd wish in such an undertaking, is making the individual's information accessible after, say, every nine years. I hope, if we have data protection law in place, then it will be prudent for such information to be made public. Overall, KBNS did a commendable job, especially in training the enumerators. Hello,
I have just been counted this morning and it is interesting there is much data to do with access to ICT . For example they ask whether you access internet from office or at home and frequency. Other ICT items such as TV, Land line, Computer, Radio (they ask whether you listen to radio - which does apply in my case, except if travel by Matatu). However there was no mention of mobile phone. In addition, they ask if the children uses computer, though not specific at school or home. As a reseacher, my view is if data is analysed well, it will be quite informative as far as "Access to ICT" accross the country is concerned.
Interestingly enough, the enumerator did not ask me about the contraversial "which tribe i belong to", I guess he picked it from the general responses. Others could share their experiences.

Hi Barrack - maybe you had walked out of the room briefly but it was stated that next week's national census will be gathering information about Internet usage in the country.
Kind Regards, Waudo

While i appreciate the fact that there are some statistics on the CCK website they are not up to date i wonder why this is the case, in the context of internet governance "how can you govern what you dont know?" (thinking globally acting locally) i am of the opinion though it is belated that some of this statistics could have been collected in the forthcoming census. Nonetheless i was impressed by the active participation by Hon Engineer Okundi and Hon Eng Rege, this is what leadership is all about, lest we forget my point i got this from the CCK website and i hope i will be answered Publications and Statistics The Commission collates industry statistics and other information to assist new market entrants with the basic information required to make commercial decisions.
