Wangusi is a good hands on guy... who has done alot especially on staff motivation for the short time he has been in the acting capacity. Wangusi it is! On Tue, Aug 21, 2012 at 9:33 AM, James Mbugua <jgmbugua@gmail.com> wrote:
I think it is a done deal. Wangusi will get it.
He has already been acting and is better at navigating the stormy politics of telcos and media houses than Njoroge was.
I don't know much about Omo but it is telling that he was not picked to be acting when Njoroge was shown the door.
Njoroge himself was not bad, only he would not fraternize with telco bosses that Waweru was chummy with (and probably did business with).
Kiptiness is a straight forward guy who would probably make the best DG among them but he has been away for sometime when he worked for Telkom Kenya.
Wangusi it is.

Hi, Tech people also have the capacity to understand regulatory issues.
Most of the organizations that CCK will have to regulate are not run by lawyers but people with technical backgrounds (in the case of telkos and ISPs) and journalists (in the case of media houses)

Hi,
Regulation is about laws so lawyers are the best placed to deal with the issues without getting bogged down in the tech issues.
Might you be interested in a wager on who will be selected and how soon after the decision will be challenged in court?

I don't get it. One engineer pitted against two lawyers.
<quote> “CCK is a highly technical institution and it requires somebody who has a good understanding of the sector,” said Dr Ndemo. </quote>
Well... as they say, wonders shall never cease.
