@Florence thanks for adding your voice onto this very important aspect of Governance.

I believe KICTANET has the VOICE and does get the EARS of the powers that be. KICTANET Leadership, please do the needful. We need to have this important event VERY inclusive. Unfortunately we only have 2 days to the earmarked day.

Regards,
Twahir

Great leadership from Kenya on the ICTs for governance front from the GOK and Kenya in general. I am delighted and proud to be associated with this history in some small way.

I agree with Twahir and wonder if KICTANet is not the right group to mount active pressure on the GOK to do as he is suggesting above, i.e. ' avail the opportunity
across the country or hold virtually where others may be able to participate from all over'.

In the same vein, I saw this piece and thought it might be interesting to some on this platform; https://twitter.com/UpFromTheCracks/status/1632782478556512256?t=gL2L_grFRiMm2mhkvHKdEw&s=19
I wonder what you think about it.

Cheers,
Florence

Thanks @David Indeje for the info.

This being a Public Participation Forum appears to be exclusive for Nairobians. This is a very important aspect for all Kenyans and as such should be availed across the country or held virtually where others may be able to participate from all over.

Thanks.

Dear Listers,

The Government of Kenya plans to digitise at least 5000 government services to enhance government service delivery.

The Government has also embarked on developing and installing an end-to-end Civil Registration and Vital Statistics System capable of generating and assigning a Unique Personal Identifier (UPI) at birth, which will act as a lifetime identity for newborns.

Given the foregoing, and in the spirit of consultative governance, the State Departments has scheduled a public participation forum with relevant stakeholders to share the Government's roadmap to the services.

The public participation forum will be held on Friday,  March 10, 2023, at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC) from 9.00 a.m.
