Dear colleagues, I was wondering if we should only ask how content should be delivered and assessed? Ultimately we need to look at how collaboratively learners can create themselves new content. The Education paradigm has changed where it is not only about delivering content by the Education system. But spaces where we can share our own content and interact with each other. In terms of what is meant by ICT in education, I would like to emphasis it is about: - ED policies taking into account the power of ICTs in the Education system - Curriculum that enhance knowledge and skills to make full use of ICTs and digital content. Also how do we use ICTs for assessment - How does ICT enhance pedagogy and where can ICTs not be used to obtain pedagogical objectives - ICT infrastructure in school - Organication of the classroom (space for collaborative groupwork, etc) and administration (use of mobile technology to send out results, etc - Teacher professional learning opportunities that are offered through ICT (i.e. Open Distance Learning, etc) Regards Jaco ------------------------------------------------- Jaco DU TOIT Adviser for Communication & Information UNESCO Regional Office for Eastern Africa United Nations Avenue, UNON, Gigiri (Room C-104) P.O. (Administrative & Institutional infrastructures at primary school levels)
Does anyone know what has been happening and what is meant by intergrating ICT in education?, anyone who knows what KIE has been doing in terms of digitization to avoid duplicity?
In addition to Barrack's questions above, it would be good to find out what changes have been done in the teacher education arena at the various levels: early childhood development, Teacher Training Colleges and the Universities iro teaching with ICT. Interventions at that level would go a long way in solving attitude and mindset issues in the teaching fraternity. --James _______________________________________________ kictanet mailing list [email protected] https://lists.kictanet.or.ke/mailman/listinfo/kictanet Unsubscribe or change your options at https://lists.kictanet.or.ke/mailman/options/kictanet/j.dutoit%40unesco.org The Kenya ICT Action Network (KICTANet) is a multi-stakeholder platform for people and institutions interested and involved in ICT policy and regulation.
