Starlink has introduced a rental plan for its equipment in Kenya, aiming to expand its customer base. Customers can now rent the Starlink kit for a monthly fee of 1,950 Kenyan shillings (KES) in addition to the data plan charges. With the rental plan, customers opting for the KES 1,300 50GB data plan will pay a total of KES 5,950 per month, including a one-off activation fee. The other option is either the 50 GB data plan or a monthly plan for KES 6,500 and purchasing the equipment for KES 29,999, currently reduced from the KES 45,500 base price.
