Dear JG, Thanks for your response. My intervention on Mobitelea was not when was it sold to Vodacome. My issue was who is his co-beneficial shareholder in Vodacome. The secrecy around mobitelea taints safaricom and vodacom efforts in fighting corruption. The easiest way to fight corruption is to ask Public servants to declare their wealth and then do studies either targeted or randomly to confirm the stated details. Without wealth reports, you're left to only gathering intelligence on ‎suspects; a much more expensive exercise. In that you are right. It’s what we do with that information. So for example in Bob’s case. He, by virtue of sharing his information has said that his income and assets list, by virtue of him being a public servant is not a private matter anymore and you can track them when he was CEO and when he leaves. That in itself is (or should at least be!) a major deterrent of income accumulation using underhand methods. It is a part of a bigger solution. But its a beginning. Communications Authority of Kenya invites stakeholders and members of the public to comment on the following draft Regulations: 1. Internet Freedom Festival - (Spain - March 2016)

Hello listers, The Internet Freedom Festival (IFF) will take place March 1-6, 2015 in Valencia, Spain. It is a time for the freedom community to strengthen bonds of trust, share knowledge, and recharge batteries. IFF takes a community, ground up approach. As a result, we are looking for interesting individuals submit a session that they feel would benefit the Internet Freedom community. Currently, there are 8 tracks you can be part of. Previous festivals have seen low attendance from Sub-Sahara Africa, from child-safety online orgs, gender-focused organisations, LGBTQI community and other minorities who are affected by Internet surveillance but are not represented as much as they would wish. Funding is limited and will depend on quality of session, how collaborative it is and how it can lead to a practical impact path after the festival. IFF creates an unique, vibrant environment where activists from various parts of the world, software creators, humanitarian workers, policy makers and others can come together, and collaboratively tackle the biggest challenges facing the Internet Freedom community.
