Safaricom Challenges Sh930 Million Arbitration Award

Safaricom PLC is seeking a court order to suspend a Sh930 million arbitration award granted to Popote Innovations Ltd. The dispute centers on a proposed 2018 partnership agreement between Safaricom and Popote Innovations for a payment application, where revenue sharing was contingent on the application's launch, which never occurred. Safaricom contends among others that the arbitrator's decision is flawed as the partnership agreement was never fully executed.
