The question that must be asked is how people *non-consensually* got registered as members of political parties. What does choosing either of the two resignation reasons mean? "Erroneously Registered" and "Remain Partyless". Why is my resignation "pending"? Scroll down on orpp.ecitizen.go.ke/dashboard and you might see a "*STAGE: PENDING RESIGNATION*". Can you be re-registered afterwards "erroneously"? Is an individual who has access to the ecitizen account the ONLY entity that has the ability/and right to register oneself as a member of a party? If not, why? As the digital currency(Just a ledger) will be 1:1 to all other forms of money that CBK has the legal right to issue, the question I ask is why every adult/person who has reached the age of consent doesn't have an account directly with the #CBK. It'll avoid inefficiencies such as going through intermediaries or special purpose vehicles when a nation is writhing in economical crisis such as what the last 2 years has been. As Scott Galloway has said during the pandemic "we need to be very harsh on companies but compassionate on households and people. You put money in people's pockets and they will spend it!". It would also spare the theatrics like what we saw in the US of cheques/checks containing an individual's signature. Also an idea I have heard and thought of in matters UHC. It involves the gov't/CBK directly depositing/marking up funds in your account every fiscal year and if you don't exhaust it you get to spend it on a holiday or anything else. The Central Bank of Kenya (CBK) announces the issuance of a Discussion Paper on Central Bank Digital Currency for public comments. The Discussion Paper examines the applicability of a potential Central Bank Digital Currency (CBDC) in Kenya. It is part of CBK’s initiatives to ensure informed policy decisions regarding innovations. The Discussion Paper invites comments from the public to be considered when assessing the potential use case for CBDC in Kenya. New digital payment methods have emerged to facilitate transactions, including CBDC, issued by central banks to serve as money in a digital form. Naturally, the balance of risks and benefits of CBDCs will vary from one economy to another. CBK has been closely monitoring these developments globally. Accordingly, CBK has prepared the Discussion Paper that outlines the evolution of payments globally and in Kenya and discusses recent digital payment methods including electronic money, CBDC, stable coins and other cryptocurrencies. It outlines Kenya’s payment landscape and assesses the potential applicability of CBDC. Further, it highlights the potential opportunities and risks presented by CBDC. To comprehensively evaluate the potential applicability of CBDC in Kenya, CBK requests for public comments on a number of questions. Overview of Other Jurisdictions’ CBDC Projects and 4. Applicability of CBDC in Kenya "It is quite apparent that CBDCs are receiving more attention than ever before. However, a key point to note is that despite the traction in attention, the motivations for the issuance of CBDCs vary across countries, as do the policy approaches and technical designs. Further, CBDC design and the potential benefits of a Kenyan CBDC remain unclear, similar to many jurisdictions across the world. Issuing a CBDC could also pose considerable risks."
