In our submission, we have proposed that the Co-regulation Framework and the Guidelines be abolished pending meaningful multi-stakeholder engagement, evidence-based research from Kenya, and legislative amendments to ensure conformity with the constitution. The three multinationals have increased their presence in East Africa with Kenya as their hub, triggering an aggressive hiring spree that has seen them pay up to Sh1.8 million monthly for principal tech specialists. Dear Listers, KICTANet, in partnership with APC’s Our Voices Our Future (OVOF) project, will host a two-day gender internet governance exchange workshop (GIGX) for structurally silenced communities and a one-day Feminist Tech Exchange on September 23, 2022, focusing on digital security. KICTANet invites 5 Listers to participate in a 3-days Gender Internet Governance and Feminist Tech Exchange session. We request you/or your organization to nominate participants by September 17th, COB to take part in this program. Their travel and participation will be sponsored by KICTANet.
