I was chatting with a colleague of mine about the EASSy cable. And he was asking, if our intention is to connect with the SAT3 cable at S.Africa why cant we do it over the terrestial landscape. I am told fiber laid side-by-side with Electricity cables can be installed in record time with minimal costs... Dear all, Given that the short notice may have denied most an opportunity to participate, Alice will be asking the funders for an extension of the deadline to next Wednesday. This means KICTAnet members will need to work on a detailed workplan that they will approve on Monday. A special planning meeting is therefore scheduled for Monday morning, 9am at Jacaranda. Please confirm your attendance as you send your input. The activities in the proposal will mainly be the activities KICTANet has discussed in previous meetings. Dear all The Embassy of Finland in Kenya is interested in funding our networks activities. They have requested for a full proposal, including work plan and budget to be submitted to them by tomorrow (Wednesday 15th 2006)noon. This message is to invite network members who have the space and time to attend an urgent breakfast meeting tomorrow at 8.30 a.m. to develop the proposal, work plan etc. Please let me know how many of you will be able to attend.
