For us laymen of the Kenyan law. What is the stance of an individual's personal device? I am not talking about your phone records(SMS and Voice), m-pesa transactions and/or bank transactions that may be held/copied elsewhere. Are your devices viewed as extensions of your mind? We all store sensitive things we can't remember on our devices. Lastly, can you be compelled to unlock your own device? The Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) is setting up an advanced forensic laboratory that will allow it to mine data, including hidden accounts and records, from taxpayers’ computers and mobile phones to detect tax and financial fraud. Meta and Samasource Sued

A case was filed today naming Meta and Samasource Kenya as respondents. It alleges they have violated workers' human rights, engaged in human trafficking and forced labor. Why trust in Data Handling Plays an Important Role in Country Development

The exercise was conducted in Kenya, South Africa, Armenia, and Jordan and more than 80 people from government, the private sector, and civil society took part. Grace emphasized that ‘Data privacy is critical to provide citizens with the freedom to share data that they wish to share. They need to be confident that they are not being surveilled online or in other forms.
