Dear Walu, In the interest of public good and a responsible media, I believe it is unfair for us to condone a media house that encourages violence no matter what side of the political divide it may support. We need a more responsible media and should not allow a bad press to hide behind "press freedom" whenever they are caught breaking the law. Even the KANU government had a good basis for shutting down a certain media house in the past. There was clear evidence of slunder and some of you may have listened to some broadcasts. That aside, the media house had installed masts in locations where it had no clearance for the same and used signal strengths higher than required resulting in interference witrh other communication equipment. Residents (consumers) especially in Karen complained to CCK and action was taken. Waudo, I believe one way of limiting software piracy is my making licenced software affordable. Selling Software?

Wainaina, I wouldn't even try to make licensed software (any) cheaper. The idea of 'selling' software is in itself questionable. I would prefer to imagine that software (programs or instructions given to computers) is like a (food) recipe. One does NOT sell recipees, infact recipees are shared by neighbours freely around the world. What one should instead sell is the skill and time used to convert the recipe into an end product (food). User's and professionals should therefore have full access to instructions (software, recipe), and using their talent and skills, they can cost and sell their time spend in customising software solutions that suits the local environment. Such 'customised' solutions should still be open and available to the next user/professional who may wish to further customise a subsequent solution from the preceding solution (while charging for the time spend in doing so). To ALL ISPs, Owing to the diversity of consumer issues around ISPs, and the need to build solid .ke confidence, a series of half-day workshops may be held soon whose objective is to develop acceptable service standards (both to the consumers and the providers). I am very interested in working with ALL of you in developing these standards along internationally acceptable professional standards and consumer quality assurance levels. While NEPAD[1] and EU are negotiating[2] financing of the project, the author claims, African governments and World Bank that are being asked to help finance another this one is called etc In real terms (and for conceptualisation purpose), the cited US$ 200 million is far short of the estimated US$ 213 million Kenya alone spends annually educating her children abroad, mainly in the UK, and yet this US$ 200m is the cost for the entire EASSy cable from South Africa upwards to southern Sudan. The author even gets emotive in trying too hard to discredit the project. Please give Africa credit sometimes!
