Hi, Now that the country has gone digital broadcast and there are additional free frequencies its time we considered a dedicated technology channel. In the interim we can also take advantage of the operationalised Media Bill that requires that all content on the airwaves must contain 60% local content which means that the media houses will soon be shopping for locally produced programming. Therefore if we produced a local show covering ICT issues we should be able to have a mouth piece for the industry. In addition sessions like the one on the ICTPark by Dr. Ndemo could have been easily aired live and therefore reach all without the need for them to travel. Lets think about this. However, there has been no debate on KICTANet and the press seems unsure on whether to fight this time round. I am surprised at the very loud silence on the issue. Hi, The death of the City Council of Nairobi Councilor might have been averted if we had a better managed emergency service 999 or 911. It seems the police on patrol where told that the car had been stolen but they where not informed if the owner had been taken hostage. We need to have the control room manned by well trained personnel and a logging system implemented so that when such cases are being investigated it is easier to know where the information breakdown occurred. Reminds me of a game we used to play in primary school called "broken telephone".
