Cassava Technologies to Build Africa's First AI Factory with NVIDIA

Cassava Technologies is partnering with NVIDIA to build Africa's first AI factory, a high-security data center powered by NVIDIA's AI computing technology, aiming to be operational in South Africa by June 2025 and expanding to Egypt, Kenya, Morocco, and Nigeria. This initiative will provide African businesses, governments, and researchers with access to cutting-edge AI computing resources, enabling them to develop AI products, streamline operations, and enhance competitiveness globally. Ministry launches inaugural 10-week Cybergame Challenge

The Ministry of Information, Communications and the Digital Economy in collaboration with the Ministry of Interior and National Administration and the Slovakian Government has rolled out a 10-week Cybergame Challenge that will run till 9th June, 2025. The Cybergame challenge is free and new Cybergame challenges will be introduced every week featuring various categories, including malware analysis; digital forensics; cryptography; open-source intelligence; offensive security and security governance and processes. Court says mandatory school fee payment via e-Citizen unlawful

The High Court has nullified the government’s directive requiring parents to pay school fees through eCitizen, saying it is unconstitutional. Justice Chacha Mwita also quashed a January 2024 circular issued by then Education Principal Secretary Belio Kipsang, which contained the directive. The court ruled that the directive was implemented without adequate public participation and partners’ engagement, thus violating constitutional provisions. Justice Mwita also found that the Sh50 convenience fee imposed on transactions on e-Citizen has no legal basis. Solicitor General and DG CA Defend Mary Wambui

The Communication Authority (CA) and Solicitor-General Shadrack Mose have defended businesswoman Mary Wambui over allegations of conflict of interest in a Sh5 billion government contract awarded to a company associated with her. In documents filed in court in response to a petition for the removal of Ms Wambui from the position of CA chairperson, both Mr Mose and CA Managing Director David Mugonyi say the allegations are unfounded.
