Listers, This is indeed good news. We have a lot of hope in Mucheru and Victor Kyalo industry veterans who have indeed worked their way through the trenches. Most importantly we hope to see the return of a multi stakeholder form of engagement in the sector which we have been yearning for in a while. I think as a sector we might need to prepare a wish list for our new leaders and most importantly commit to work with them towards achieving their mandate. The reshuffle is timely still it comes at the end of the year and will allow us to start 2016 on a new slate. The main charge is that they are accused of installing communication equipment without a license. Mugo, was arrested with Zak (may the almighty rest his soul in peace) over a year ago and Osborne Otinda with his colleague Maxwell Odhiambo (according to today's Nation, Page 3) were arrested in October 2014 and are still in jail. Excerpts:- (Addis Standard) – The body of a Kenyan engineer who died while in an Ethiopian prison has arrived home on Thursday Dec. 11th. Zak Muriuki, a father of two girls (pictured) and a tech engineer by profession, arrived in Ethiopia nearly two years ago on January 9, 2015, according to information obtained by Addis Standard. Dear Listers, I have been blocked by one Peter Cummings @CummingsThatiah for expressing concern about beshte.com. Number 6 of the beshte.com Terms and conditions says: "6.1 To be eligible for [an account] on our website under this Section 6, you must [be resident or situated in the United Kingdom]." Yet this individual posted a Tweet urging Kenyans to join beshte.com so as to earn 100,000 just for using it. Already we’re worried about how the government is using the data it does have about us and now we want to take it all and put it in one place? Second why exactly does the government need to know all of this additional data about me that they don’t currently collect? Finally, this won’t be cheap particularly with the additional data they want to collect. Who’s paying for this?

Listers I think this headline by a leading business newspaper is misleading. The lawyers have a point. I don't think they are against Automation per se. I think they are fighting an animal that we need to kill in this country. And that animal is lack of adequate public participation and total disregard of our constitution when it comes to this matter. This sort of attitude by our leaders will take us nowhere. Progress will come.
