UoN twitter handle hacked, ransomed demanded in bitcoins!

Someone has hacked the twitter handle for UoN https://twitter.com/ict_uonbi, and taken control of it. He has asked for 10BTC and posted the account where the BTC should be sent to. The exchange rate is 1 bitcoin is USD 650 https://www.google.com/?gws_rd=ssl#q=10btc+to+%24 Then to demonstrate that this is not a joke, the person(s) have started posting passwords for different systems and Emails accounts for UoN. Not sure though if these are the real passwords or its just empty threats. It would be interesting to hear from experts. National ICT Poilicy: DAY 10 of 10:-Vision, Mission, Objectives.

Listers, Thanx all for your contributions over the last 9days. Today we wrap up the online discussions by going back to the the beginning. We look at the Vision Mission Overarching Objectives of the Draft ICT Policy. Background The Vision is the dream, where you want to be 10, 15, 20years from now. The Mission is what you need to do regularly to get there, while the Objectives are intermediary milestones, the specific, measurable and achievable targets to guide you towards your mission and vision. It would be nice to have one objective per thematic area but do not be constrained by that. Just wear your creative hat and float out what Vision, Mission and Overarching objectives you propose for our ICT policy in any manner :-) You may also opt to propose amendments to the proposed Vision, Mission & Objectives as hosted on Jadili platform. 1Day on this issue. -walu.

Listers, We had wanted your full attention so that I can 'officially' declare the end of our online discussions on the Draft National ICT Policy. But clearly the proposed ICT practitioners Bill has stolen our thunder :-) Either way, I thank all those who contributed as well as those who read in silence :-). We shall have the compiled reports from the KICTAnet list as a well as the Jadili platform by the end of the week for your perusal. Thereafter, we shall hold a face2face Validation Workshop at the Strathmore University at a date to be confirmed later on next week. The Kenya Internet Governance Forum (IGF) will be held on 12th August 2016 at the Laico Regency hotel. Please save the date to participate in the event. The IGF is a unique platform for all stakeholders to openly exchange perspectives and concerns on key issues that may affect the future of the Internet for millions of Kenyans. KICTANet has been involved in organising the Kenya IGF in partnership with industry stakeholders to address key Internet issues.
